One of my biggest passions in life is creating and crafting dance for performance. While my journey as a choreographer has only just begun, i am immensely proud of the work I have done so far and hope to conitnue to produce work I can be proud of. Below you will find descriptions of my work as well as links to take you to see the full works if you are interested, simply click the picture beside the description.

In.SURRECTION

My most latest work explored the phrase “anger is a response to injustice” through the lens of teenage angst. The motivation of this piece came from my own personal musings on how often teenager’s feelings are often invalidated by adults and made to feel like they are overreacting and so they learn to push down their feelings or gaslight themselves into conforming when in fact they should not only feel those feelings but express them. We learn from movements such as March for Our Lives that teenagers are capable and intelligent and should not be underestimated.

Newton’s Third Law of Motion

This piece as its title suggest explores the idea of how every action has its equal opposite reaction. The motivation for this work came to think about this scientific law in more abstract ways such as how our actions in life affects the people around us.

in Time

this piece was a solo performed in the same concert as the above piece and was a personal memoir. The piece explores the concept of time by using 12 motifs that hold deep meaning for me from my life as well as using Ted Talks and spoken word poems on top of an instrumental song.

Happy Hour

Many times when I create a piece, I let the music guide me on what to do. Just was the case with this piece as jazz dance inherently requires a connection to the music. I was greatly inspired by Nina Simone to create a piece that honored jazz and showcased my passion for jazz by bringing it back to its roots and creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a 1950’s jazz lounge.
